The KM Media Group needs your help.
We have pledged to help Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) to raise £100,000 to meet its target to complete the facilities at its new Centenary Village for ex-servicemen and women in Aylesford.
It’s an admirable ambition. Already the charity has spent £24m on providing some of the most up-to-date living accommodation and support services for our military veterans who find themselves scarred either physicaly or mentally by their servce while defending these Islands.
The charity has been performing this vital role since shortly after the First World War, but the need has never been greater.
RBLI knows only too well how difficult it can be for some ex-servicemen to settle back into civilian life and a disproportionate number end up living on the streets.
Today, it gives first-class accommodation to more 350 veterans and their families.
It also provides gainful employment to injured veterans at its social enterprise factory named Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing Company.
Now RBLI wants to complete the project with a new accommodation block, and a community centre with accessible gym and an IT suite.
Planning permission is already in place, but they need another £100,000 before they can commit to putting the final spade in the ground.
We ask you to help us to help them.
If you have a business with a charity budget please consider donating to the RBLI. If your staff can organise a fund-raising activity, be it a lunch-time cake sale or a charity run, please support them to do it.
We will record your gallant efforts across our news media.
Similarly, if you are a member of a club, fitness group, the WI or sports team, would you consider holding an event to help the cause?
