A celebrity chef has paid a special visit to a Kent charity.
Marcus Wareing spent a day with the team at Spadework in Offham, near West Malling, for his new BBC programme.
The charity, based in Teston Road, provides services to adults with learning disabilities, people experiencing problems with mental health and those living with dementia.
Last month, Spadework scooped the Kent Charity of the Year award for its work helping the local community.
A recent Facebook post revealed it had also been a part of the second series of a BBC Two show.
It said: “So did you spot us? A while ago we were delighted to have renowned chef Marcus Wareing visit the Spadework Pumpkin Garden for his new show Marcus Wareing’s Tales from a Kitchen Garden.
“Marcus and his TV crew learnt all about the different varieties of pumpkins we have on offer in the garden, as well as lending a hand to our trainees.”
Over the course of the series, the chef travels the length and breadth of the country to discover the secrets of planting, rearing animals and growing vegetables – then turns them into delicious meals.
The 53-year-old is a TV personality, restaurateur and acclaimed cookbook author.
Since 2014, Wareing has been a judge on MasterChef: The Professionals. He also owns a Michelin-starred restaurant called Marcus in Knightsbridge.
Episode 18 was shown on Wednesday, September 20 at 6.30pm, but you can watch the whole series on BBC iplayer.
Spadework’s PYO Pumpkin Garden is open daily from this Wednesday until Tuesday, October 31.
