Pupils are getting tough on inconsiderate drivers parking outside their school.
The Year 6 children at Kings Hill Primary School were so incensed at the way some parents were parking that they decided to do something about it.
They enlisted the help of head teacher Kerry Thomas, who agreed to their plan of becoming Pupil Parking Attendants.

Miss Thomas said: “Parking around our school has always been a real worry to me, and I have strived to educate parents to the dangers their parking at the school poses to our pupils.”
The pupils, aged 10 and 11, have all been trained by Miss Thomas and she is always on duty with them.
The 27 youngsters have a rota system, with six on duty every morning.
They wear high visibility vests and have laminated parking tickets which they designed themselves, which they are allowed to give to parents who park irresponsibly.
In the past, some parents have parked on the zigzag lines outside the Crispin Way school, and some have parked and left their cars in the school’s drop-off lay by, creating a blockage for other users.
Miss Thomas said there really was no excuse for parents parking badly as there are plenty of safe parking spaces within easy distance of the school.

Isabel Hillsdon, 11, said: “It is great to be a parking monitor as we get to make the school a better and safer place. It’s really nice to be able to see the parents beginning to park more safely because of what we’ve done.”
So far, the children have only had to issue three tickets.
