A pedestrian has been airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car.
The accident happened on the A20 in Aylesford this morning.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “SECAmb was called at approximately 10am today to London Road, to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
“Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance Service. The pedestrian was treated at the scene before being airlifted to hospital in London.”
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area or face a lengthy waiting time following the incident, which happened at around 10am.
The road between the Hall Road and Hermitage Lane junction has been closed westbound.
Traffic is being diverted at Hermitage Lane junction.
A police spokesman said: “We were called at 10.05am to a collision in London Road, Aylesford, involving car and a male pedestrian.
“Officers and ambulance crews attended and the pedestrian was taken to hospital.”
The road reopened at around 2.30pm.
