Crews remained at the scene for 18 hours after a house was badly damaged by fire.
Firefighters attended the blaze on Borough Green Road, Wrotham, near Sevenoaks with seven fire engines and a height vehicle on Monday.September12.
They arrived at the incident yesterday at about 3.15pm and remained at the house overnight to check for any remaining hotspots after the fire broke out in the roof.
A fire service spokesman added that crews were helping residents to help salvage any items.
They left the site at 9.35am today.
A fire volunteer response team were also on-hand to offer support to residents and welfare for crews, while Kent Police assisted with traffic management.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is not yet known.
A neighbour close to the property said: “Our thoughts go out to the family.
“It’s devastating what’s happened to them not just because of the fire but because of all their lost possessions.
“Our hearts go out to them and we offer them our best wishes.”
Nearby residents returning to their homes were told to park their cars away from the incident and were allowed to get home on foot.
Neighbours confirmed the road was closed for a substantial amount of time yesterday.
It is understood the owners of the building were not at home at the time of the fire and another neighbour was trying to find a contact number to alert them.
When the road reopened again, a nearby gardener helped emergency services to guide traffic flow up and down the road.
