The 78,794sq ft warehouse sits on what was once Aylesford Newsprint, a site which formerly produced papers for The Times, Mirror and The Observer.

In March, Evri signed a deal to move into the new logistics park – joining both Fowler Welch and DHL.

Around 50 full-time jobs and 100 part-time jobs have been created as a result of the move.

The depot can handle more than 220,000 parcels each day, over double as many as its previous site a few miles away in Quarry Wood.

It can also operate 24/7 if required and comes complete with electric vehicle charging for ParcelShop couriers.

Gemma Jones, depot general manager, said: "We are all very excited to have moved into our new home.

"It shows the faith the business has in Team Maidstone to deliver a world-class service from this world-class facility.

"We are all very grateful for this opportunity and would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped make this happen."
