A driver who fled police is still on the run.

Officers tried to pull over a suspicious vehicle in New Hythe Lane, Aylesford at around 4pm on Sunday afternoon.

When the vehicle failed to stop, police gave chase and it was later spotted in Lunsford Lane, Larkfield.

The driver had left the scene on foot.

Kent Police's roads unit said the car drove dangerously before it was found deserted on the road near the M20.

A search of the car revealed a knife was kept in the driver's door pocket.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Enquires are ongoing to locate the driver."
