Larkfield: The Hyde Group promise to clear rubbish store at Leybourne Park by tomorrow

A housing provider has promised to clear rubbish that has amassed in a bin store at a Larkfield estate.

Black sacks are now tumbling out of the cupboard at Leybourne Park, in New Hythe Lane, making it impossible for bin men to get inside.

According to resident Matthew Styles the problem dates back to before Christmas and has got progressively worse.

The Hyde Group, which are responsible for maintaining the bin store, has now confirmed it will remove the pile of rubbish tomorrow (Friday).

Tony Morgan, head of housing, said: “The bin store mentioned will be cleared by our contractors tomorrow and we apologise for the inconvenience caused to local residents.

"This is part of a wider problem in the area with people coming from outside to dump rubbish, our staff have recently met with the managing agents to discuss the problems and look for potential solutions caused by people over filling the bins.

"We are also working to educate our residents to report issues of fly tipping to the local authority so the perpetrators can be stopped.”
