Firefighters have tackled a blaze at an industrial unit.

Crews were called to the scene on at the Cottage Industrial Estate in Forstal Road, Aylesford at 2.30pm yesterday where they used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to battle the flames.

Two fire engines along with a height vehicle were sent.

Ryan Roser, 26, from Aylesford, who was passing by, said: "I was cycling along the new river path and see this thick black smoke. I thought it was rather odd so cycled faster to get to the scene. All the staff had been evacuated and one fire engine was on scene. Breathing gear used to combat the fire inside."

The incident was declared over just before 3pm but crews remained to dampen down.
