A tonne of paper was destroyed after a fire broke out at a mill in Snodland this morning.
Five engines raced to the Smurfit Kappa Townsend Hook site in Mill Street at 8.41am, after the blaze started in a machine.
It was quickly brought under control thanks to the company's sprinkler system and by crews using breathing apparatus, and hose reel jets.
Firefighter remained at the site until 2pm.
A spokesman for Smurfit Kappa said that the fire had caused minimal disruption to the firm and praised the fire service for their swift actions.
No one was injured. Details of damage have not yet been released.
