Domino’s Pizza has applied to convert Snodland's former NatWest bank into a takeaway.

The proposal for 21 High Street has been put forward by Popat Leisure Ltd and would include the removal of the existing windows, the installation of new ventilation equipment and the creation of a residential flat on the first floor of the building with its own steel staircase.

The building is mainly Victorian, unlisted and currently sits within the Snodland Conservation Area.

In their supporting statement, the applicant says: "The design and changes proposed by the development are in-keeping with the character and appearance of the surrounding Snodland Conservation Area.

"As a result, the proposal should not raise any visual or residential amenity concerns."

The proposed opening times are 10am to 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 10am to midnight on Friday and Saturday.

The former bank has been vacant since 2015 after NatWest began closing branches across Kent. It was announced nine more were to be axed in December.

Snodland Town Council's planning committee is due to discuss the plans on Thursday, August 10.
