A former Tonbridge School student has been found stabbed to death.
Adrian Greenwood attended the school from 1984 to 1991, before going to Christ Church, Oxford, and then Imperial College for a masters degree.
He was found dead from with multiple stab wounds in the hallway of his home in Iffley Road, Oxford, on Thursday.
Mr Greenwood was 42 and a noted expert in antiques and the history of the 19th century.
Thames Valley Police have arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of murder, but he was released without charge on Saturday.
Det Supt Chris Ward said: “Mr Greenwood’s body was found in the hallway of his four-storey house.
“We believe that an altercation had taken place in the hallway. We are keeping an open mind in terms of the motive.”
Mr Greenwood had last been seen shopping at Sainsbury on Tuesday afternoon, two days earlier.
Mr Greenwood was an historian and biographer, and also dealt in art and cars.
His books included Victoria’s Scottish Lion, and Through Spain with Wellington.
