Geoff Wilkinson is the Green candidate contesting the Chatham and Aylesford seat in forth-coming General Election.
Mr Wilkinson, 52, lives in Barming and for the past 10 years has run his own company - Wilkinson Construction Consultants, based in Kings Hill.
He is a qualified chartered surveyor and fire engineer.
He has fought two district elections and one county election before on behalf of the Greens.
He said: "You can't escape the fact that this time Brexit will be the major issue for the entire country."
The Green party are calling for the UK to remain in the EU.
However, for him the most important issue was the environment. He said: "People are concerned about traffic and the endless road closures around Chatham and Aylesford.
"I want to see reductions in traffic flow, by supporting public transport and discouraging single-person journeys."
He said that he personally "had a great deal of sympathy" with Labour's plan to re-nationalise the rail industry.
He said the Green Party's £100b Green New Deal would create an entirely new way of structuring the economy of the country shifting emphasis away from reliance on the banking industry and creating a second - green - industrial revolution powered by solar energy and wind farms.
The other candidates standing in Chatham and Aylesford are Tracey Crouch (Con), John Gibson (Christian People's Alliance), Vince Maple (Lab) and David Naghi (Lib Dem).
