Long delays form on M20 eastbound between Junction 4 and 5, near Aylesford, due to broken-down lorry

There were long queues on the M20 due to a broken down lorry.

Three out of four lanes were closed on the coastbound carriageway between Junction 4 and Junction 5, near Aylesford, at about 4pm this afternoon (October 23).

National Highways said vehicle recovery was en route to help clear the incident.

There were around six miles of congestion with queues back to the M26 junction for Wrotham.

Drivers were being warned of delays of around 45 minutes to an hour against expected traffic.

Just after 5pm, National Highways said the accident had cleared but drivers should expect delays of 20 minutes until the four miles of congestion had cleared.
