Undeterred by the rain, a dozen litter-pickers set off from Church Farm Hall in Larkfield on Saturday, for the "Larkfield Litter Pick."
Between them they cleared 27 bags of rubbish from the local area.
The newly elected Mayor for Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, Roger Roud, and his Lady Mayoress, Pam, cheered the volunteers on their way. Among the litter-pickers was KCC Councillor Trudy Dean, who has just been relected to her Malling Central Division with an increased majority.
Further litter picks are planned across East Malling and Larkfield as part of the Great British Spring Clean with starts on May 28 and runs for weeks, as below.
Saturday, May 29: 10.30am meeting in the Village Hall car park at New Road, East Malling
Saturday, June 5: 10am meeting at Clare Lake for ground work and litter picking around the local area
Saturday, June 12: 10.30am meeting at Church Farm Hall, New Hythe Lane
