The Labour Party have selected their candidate for Tonbridge and Malling in the General Election.
Dylan Jones, 29, lives in Copperfield Close, Ashford with his long term partner Emma and has been a member of the party for eight years.
He is also the local treasurer for the party.
Mr Jones, who grew up in Ashford, is a distribution manager for the Royal Mail in Canterbury and the distribution health and safety lead for Kent.
He worked his way up from postman to management after graduating with a Master's degree from Aberystwyth University seven years ago.
The former politics student spent a semester studying at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
He has also worked for Find a Voice, a charity based in Ashford which helps those with learning and communication disabilities.
In his spare time he enjoys road running and keeping fit.
In June, he campaigned against the highly controversial East Stour Park development, in Ashford.
He set up a petition against the plans to build more than 200 apartments on a flood zone.
The development has now been delayed since the original application May.
Mr Jones said: "I believe a Labour government can offer the real change the country needs.
"The NHS is at breaking point, education underfunded, rising numbers of foodbanks and countless other neglected issues during three and a half years of Tory Brexit paralysis.
"The issues extend to Tonbridge, where new residents can't find a GP and there are grave concerns regarding the new local plan."
The Conservative candidate is Tom Tugendhat who has been the town's MP since 2015.
Mr Jones was a runner up in the 2017 General Election, coming second behind Tom Tugendhat.
He received 22.3% of local votes, bringing Labour's share of votes in the constituency up 8% on the 2015 General Election.
