One of Aylesford's oldest businesses has added a new line to their offer.
Lillico’s Country Store started life as a grain and agricultural merchants in 1788 becoming a limited company in 1937.
Since then the business in Beddow Way has offered a range of products for horses, pets and farm animals, ranging from wild bird seed to horse rugs.
Now the company has decided to cater to its human patrons too.
It has introduced a Farmer’s Table section offering locally sourced vegetables, meat and drinks.
Customers can now find fresh fruit and dairy products, deli foods, dried goods, and giftware, alongside the existing range of animal feed, bedding and accessories.
All of the products are sourced locally, helping to support the many rural businesses that have been hard-hit during the pandemic.
As an essential business, Lillico's has been fortunate in having been able to remain open throughout the crisis.
Retail manager Maria Giuliani said: "We’re delighted to have The Farmer’s Table in store. We wanted to create something for our customers which meant they could do their shopping in one place as well as supporting local businesses, which is more important than ever right now.”
Local producers interested in selling their wares at the Farmer's Table should call 01622 718062.
Lillico's is open Monday to Saturday, from 8.30am to 5pm (with late night shopping until 7pm on Thursday), and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
