An inquest heard how a man died when the vehicle he was in was involved in a head-on crash on the M20.
Mohammed Chowdhury was a passenger in the car, which was travelling the wrong way on the motorway in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The court heard that the car was in the third lane of the London-bound carriageway, between junctions four for Leybourne and three for Borough Green and the M26, when it collided with an oncoming vehicle, travelling in the right direction.
The 32-year-old from London died at the scene. A post-mortem examination found he died from multiple injuries.
Patricia Harding, senior coroner for Mid-Kent and Medway, opened the inquest and adjourned it until Tuesday, July 4, but noted this date would be dependent on the police investigation.
The driver of the car, a 37-year-old from Orpington, was arrested and bailed until Monday, June 12.
Officers want to speak with anyone who saw the Corolla in the moments leading up to the crash, or who may have dashcam footage.
Witnesses can call police on 01622 798538 quoting reference DB/DM/36/17.
