A heap of manure caught fire near Leybourne this morning.

Firefighters were called to Rectory Lane South just after 11am where the pile, about 20m square, was on fire.

They used a hose reel to put out the flames, which a spokesman said were on the surface of the manure rather than inside it.

Crews left the scene at about 11.50am.
