Aylesford MP Tracey Crouch is close to "blowing her top" over the state of flood defences in the town.
Once again the A20, London Road was hit by flooding yesterday, more than a year after it was supposed to have a solution installed.
Kent County Council was supposed to install a pump on land owned by The Crown Estate, instead it opted to clean local drains.
Tracey Crouch, Chatham and Aylesford MP said: "Kent County Council’s remediation works on the A20 in Aylesford were tested to the extreme yesterday and they failed.
"Given the level of rainfall I feel torn between giving KCC the benefit of the doubt or blowing my top.
"Either way it is still disappointing that years after promising to resolve the problem of flooding on this particular stretch of road it still occurs."
A pump was due to be installed in March last year.
Come November, KCC announced it had dropped the plan.
A spokesman said at the time: "Investigations have found that a pump is not required and several new connections have been made to join existing manholes and soakaways and a full cleanse of the system has been completed.
"There remains a plan to connect an overflow into the Crown Estate system which runs through the car park."
Mrs Crouch has responded to widespread flooding which rocked Snodland and Birling as well.
She said: "Yesterday's torrential rain caused a huge amount of misery for householders and road users and I am grateful to the emergency services and council for their response in supporting those affected."
Kent County Council has been approached for comment.
