A couple are hoping to track down a mystery woman who came to their aid during the emergency birth of their daughter in a car park.
Scott Hall and Lara Ashton from Snodland had planned to get to Maidstone Hospital for the birth on Friday, but realised en-route that their new arrival was going to arrive in the car.
Lara's mum Karen was driving, but had only got a short distance from their home in Birling Road when she was forced to pull into the car park at Leybourne Lakes.
"At around 3pm Lara was getting cramps," said Scott, 26. "She rang the Maidstone birthing centre at 3.30pm where they told us to go in and said they will be ready upon arrival.
"We had to wait for Lara's sister to arrive so she could sit with our boys Riley and Reggie."
They left for the hospital around 4.30pm, but minutes later realised Lara, 28, was about to give birth, explained Scott.
"We got on the roundabout just before Leybourne Lakes where Lara's waters broke. We pulled in, I rang the ambulance and Lara's mum helped Lara on the back seat.
"I was on the phone to the ambulance service - I turned around and baby's head was coming. Within seconds baby Isabella was born. Karen turned into a midwife and delivered her healthy beautiful granddaughter."
But Scott said they also wanted to thank a woman who got out of the car next to them to help - by talking to the ambulance service and answering medical questions.
"She was checking Lara over," added Scott. "She said she has worked in biology and science; and she stayed very calm through it all.
He added: "We would like to track this lady down to say a massive thank you and give her a little something to show our appreciation."
Baby Isabella was born at 5.15pm weighing 7lb 3oz and was taken to Maidstone birthing centre where staff were awaiting their arrival.
"Maidstone birth centre, the ambulance crew and this mystery lady were all very helpful and we cannot be thankful enough for their help."
