A £75,000 playground “will make such a difference” to villagers, a parish chairwoman has said.
Students from the school council at Offham Primary School were the first children to play on the new sports equipment just off Teston Road in Offham.
The latest addition to the recreation ground officially opened on May 13 and includes an agility net, table tennis, chess boards, and a 173-metre walking track.
The table tennis bats and chess pieces can be borrowed from the Kings Arms pub for a small deposit or visitors can bring their own.
The chairwoman of Offham Parish Council, Sue Taylor, said: “We are so proud of what has been achieved with the regeneration of our recreation ground with the outdoor sports grant.
“This will make such a difference to our community for both adults and children.”
The equipment has been bought using money from Section 106 contributions from developer Pro Logis who have built in Kings Hill.
