A new store is set to open in a village.
Retailer Ahilan Murugesu will open a new Costcutter supermarket on Hawley Drive, Leybourne next Wednesday, creating 10 new jobs.
It will officially open at 10am when staff will be on hand to welcome shoppers with giveaways throughout the day.
Goody bags will be handed to the first 100 customers to come through the door. That will give them a 25 per cent chance of winning a range of fantastic prizes, including £25 food vouchers, phone accessories, Gourmade meals and more.
Ahilan has been working closely with Tonbridge and Malling MP, Tom Tugendhat, to open the purpose-built store located in the heart of the recently-completed Taylor Wimpey development.
Through Costcutter’s wholesale supply deal with Co-op, Ahilan will also offer more than 1,000 Co-op own brand products within the store.
He said: “I’m delighted to be able to open the store and provide shoppers with everything they need for a ‘full shop’ right here on their doorstep.
"Now more than ever, we want to support local residents..."
“We would like to thank the community including our local MP, Tom Tugendhat, for the support we have received to be able to get the store open.
“Now more than ever, we want to support local residents to ensure they have access to everything they need to shop locally and we can’t wait to welcome our first shoppers.”
Tonbridge and Malling MP Mr Tugendhat said: “I am delighted that Costcutter will bring their much-needed store to Leybourne Chase.
“We’ve been waiting for a shop on site since the community was first developed. A shop at the heart of Leybourne Chase will help everyone living here.
“The past year has demonstrated just how much we all rely on our local shops and it is great that Costcutter have made this investment in the Leybourne Chase community.
“I look forward to it opening very soon.”
The store will be open 7am to 8pm Sunday to Thursday, and 7am to 9pm on Friday and Saturday.
