A Kent sex boutique appeared in Olivia Attwood’s award-winning ITVX documentary series Getting Filthy Rich.
VIBEZ, in Aylesford, featured in the second series of the ex-Love Island contestant’s show which explores the new and uncharted world of selling sex online.
The independent family business of 18 years, run by Tracey Whitmore and her 36-year-old son, Christopher, opened its doors to Olivia and her camera crew to feature in an episode about sex toys.
Tracey, 56, said: “We were delighted to welcome the crew and to be part of such a hard-hitting and popular documentary series.
“It was a hoot! Olivia Attwood is so good with the way she goes about looking into the industry.
“We’ve been approached for shows like this in the past but nothing ever came from it so we were thrilled when ITV came to film in February this year.”
Tracey explained that ITV approached their business to be in the show because of its family-run mantra.
She continued: “Because the business was set up by myself, my husband and my son it's different to other big corporations which sell similar products.
“We couldn’t believe that Olivia was coming. She spent all day with us, it was just fantastic.”
She added: “The crew were also so lovely.
“We were very nervous but ITV said it was the best shoot they’d ever done for the show and the editing team had a great time editing the footage.
“It is nice to see our store getting recognition on national TV.”
During the episode it is explained that VIBEZ is one of the UK’s largest independent adult stores.
Speaking in the show Olivia said: “This place is insane.
“It’s like an Aladdin’s cave. I just can’t get over the contrast of this shop in this sleepy little village.”
In response, Tracey told her: “We did open some eyes when we opened up because not only do we have the biggest range but we’re also mother and son!”
During their screen time Tracey and Christopher showed The Only Way is Essex star what sort of items they had for sale – including a £4,000 erotic robot.
Shocked by the price, Olivia questioned what type of people would spend that kind of money on those kinds of products.
Tracey explained that there was no limit to what men would spend to enjoy themselves.
She said to KentOnline: “Olivia is amazing. She rocked up with no make-up, in casual clothes but absolutely stunning.
“She was lovely to film with and was amazed by everything we had for sale.”
In 2016, Tracey was named the UK’s best store manager at the annual Erotic Trade Only (ETO) ceremony after recreating a set from Fifty Shades of Grey in her shop.
She impressed the judges with her depiction of Christian Grey’s infamous Red Room, where customers could examine some of the products used in the film.
