The opening date of a new Aldi store has been set.
Paralympic gold medallist, Claire Cashmore, will cut the opening ribbon of Kings Hill's new discount supermarket next month - with prizes up for grabs.
Aldi confirmed it will be opening the store at 8am on Thursday, November 10.
To celebrate the new official partnership between Aldi and ParalympicsGB, new store manager Lee Cowell and his team will be joined by swimming star Claire.
The para swimming and triathlon champion will also give away 100 golden envelopes to the first 100 customers in the queue, each containing tickets to win a range of prizes, including a £100 Aldi voucher to spend in store, a licensed children’s smart watch, a Meccano 150-piece bucket and a gaming alarm clock.
Lee said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Kings Hill.
"It’s set to be a special day and having Paralympic hero Claire Cashmore join us will make it a morning to remember.”
Claire added: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store; it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of ParalympicsGB.”
The new store will offer customers fresh British meat products, Aldi’s award-winning ‘Specially Selected’ range, exclusive beers, wines and spirits, and a ‘Food to Go’ section at the front of the store.
Aldi’s famous Specialbuys will also be available in the middle aisle every Thursday and Sunday.
The supermarket is also calling on local charities and food banks in Kings Hill to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to charitable organisations in the local community.
Charities that register will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products, such as fruit, vegetables and baked goods, up to seven days a week.
Any charities in the area that would like to partner up with the new Aldi store should email aldi@neighbourly.com.
The new store is located at 2 Alexander Grove, Kings Hill, West Malling, ME19 4XR and will be open from 8am until 10pm during the week and from 10am until 4pm on Sundays.
