A man was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in the early hours of Sunday.

Officers were called to Pound Road in East Peckham at 12.45am following the collision.

An ambulance was also sent to the scene.

The pedestrian, who was in his 40s, was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

A police spokesman said the driver of the car was known to the man injured and has been spoken to by officers.

The ambulance service has been contacted for more information.
