People are being urged to avoid the area near an industrial building this evening where fire crews are battling a large blaze.

Very few details are available at the moment, but people living or travelling in Brook Lane in Snodland are being advised to avoid the area as there is a large plume of smoke.

Firefighters are also advising that people close their doors and windows if they live locally.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to reports of a large fire in an industrial building just before 8.15pm. Two fire engines are currently in attendance.

A spokesman said: “Please share this information with any loved ones in the area who may be affected but do not have access to the internet.”
