A police dog has helped track down a suspected car thief less than an hour after a vehicle was stolen from outside an address in Hadlow.
Officers were called at 9.55pm yesterday after a Ford Focus was stolen from Court Lane. They tracked the stolen vehicle and a pursuit was assisted by a police helicopter.
The car was followed to a field near School Road, Bean, where it was found abandoned.
Patrols searched the area, assisted by Police Dog Chewie.
At around 10.25pm, Chewie found a 27-year-old man from Gravesend.
He was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, criminal damage and driving while disqualified.
