A man driving a stolen van has been arrested after a dumper that had also been stolen was found in the back.

Patrols from Kent Police’s Roads Policing Unit spotted a man driving a van on the M20 yesterday believed to have a false number plate.

Officers followed the van as it turned off at Junction 10 and it was forced to pull over by police in Plumpton Road, Ashford.

The van had been reported stolen from Orpington and the driver was arrested on suspicion of theft.

Officers found a dumper in the back of the van which had also been reported stolen from a business in West Malling on Monday, March 27.

He was further arrested in connection with this.

The man, aged 33 from Sevenoaks, has been released on police bail while inquiries continue.
