K Sports Cobdown could be in line for additional pitches.
A new company, Powerleague Fives Group, has kicked off the application process to gain permission to construct eight five-a-side fenced artificial-surface football pitches and one seven-a-side pitch on land in the south west of the Cobdown site at Ditton.
Powerleague will take a lease from K Sports Management Ltd to operate there.
K Sports already has a 3G football pitch and a 3G hockey pitch, as well as a number of other grass pitches and bowling greens.
The Powerleague proposal will add 70 car parking spaces to the 79 already on site.
The new pitches would be floodlight with a total of 36 lighting towers.
The proposal would extend over roughly one hectare at the Cobdown site off Station Road in Ditton.
A supporting one-storey pavilion is included in the plans.

Aside from its sports uses, and functions in its clubhouse, K Sports is already used by a counselling training firm on two days a week, by Slimming World club members once a week and by Amazon who use the main car park to carry out health and safety checks on their vans for two hours every day.
