Forget gnomes – a mini pig could be the latest must-have ornament for your garden.
Master potter at Aylesford Pottery Billy Byles, who holds the Guinness World Record for throwing pots in the quickest time, has created a range of garden mini pigs that pottery fans can sniff out as part of the South East Open Studios.
It is the first time the pottery, which is at Aylesford Priory in the High Street, has taken part in the event, which gives artists across the region the chance to open their doors to the public.
Open Studios visitors can also meet and speak to artists, see them at work, and get some of their creations hot off the presses.
Mr Byles first made a terracotta pig last year, but has gone one step further by making the mini versions, so garden owners could have whole litters adorning their land.
Mr Byles will be on hand with fellow master potter Alan Parris to answer questions on making pottery and ceramics from today to Sunday June 21.
The pair are usually available to chat to visitors, when they are not running classes for schools and adults.
Mr Byles said: "People often want something different in their gardens and like the idea of having their own mini farmyard.
"We don’t go in for anything tacky. We try to make things which are a little bit more arty."
The pottery is open between 10am and 5pm this weekend.
