Kings Hill: Reports of fire in Tower View

Fire crews spent nearly an hour battling a fire after a suspected arson attack on a bin store in Kings Hill.

A large smoke plume was seen billowing from Tower View after the blaze started at around 6.50pm.

Three fire engines were initially sent due to the number of 999 calls received, however one was stood down.

Crews used breathing apparatus to tackle the fire, which was confined to a single building.

The building housed the mains gas and electricity supply intake for nearby offices, which was severely damaged.

Firefighters isolated the supply and made the scene safe before leaving the scene at around 9pm.

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
