An accident involving a van led to 12 miles of traffic during rush-hour this morning.

Lane one on the M25, between Sevenoaks and Clacket Lane Services, was closed due to an accident at 7.15am.

Motorists faced congestion of up to a mile before J3 M20, for the Swanley Interchange, and four miles back along the M26.

A spokesman for National Highways said: "This morning at 9.45, all lanes are now open on the M25.

"Delays are estimated 10 minutes above normal journey times with heat maps showing three miles of congestion."
