News of a Kent school sharing a pornographic video to its following of pupils and parents has now reached as far as the United States.
The Malling School had retweeted the three-second clip, initially posted by a blue-tick-verified porn star, to its 1,070 followers before it was swiftly removed on Wednesday afternoon.
The original video features a woman and a man who appears to to be dressed as an Easter Bunny and has been viewed more than 900,000 times since it was posted on April 19.
Head teacher John Vennart said the school had been "a victim of a hacking incident" and confirmed an investigation was being carried out.
The blunder has since been shared far and wide, with American radio station WRIF Detroit also showing interest, writing on its website: "The Malling School in the UK has some ‘splaining to do."
The school's account was also spotted following eight others linked to the sex industry, before these were unfollowed.
One follower, a 19-year-old man whose brother attends the school, and asked only to be named as Richard, said: "I'm shocked. It's not what you'd expect of a school's Twitter feed.
"It makes you think about how it got there."
Last year, Oakwood Park Grammar School head teacher Kevin Moody blamed hackers after a pornographic tweet was "liked" from his Twitter account.
