A secondary school has launched an investigation after saying its Twitter account was hacked, resulting in a pornographic video being shared to its following of pupils and parents.
The Malling School had had retweeted the three-second clip, initially posted by a blue-tick-verified porn star, to its 1,070 followers before it was swiftly removed on Wednesday afternoon.
The original video features a woman and a man who appears to to be dressed as an Easter Bunny and has been viewed more than 900,000 times since it was posted on April 19.
The last tweet posted by the Beech Road school - which was rated Good by Ofsted and boasts of its "traditional ethos" on its website - prior to sharing the clip featured a series of pictures from a school trip to Kenya, where pupils were helping to paint a classroom.
Its account was also spotted following eight others linked to the sex industry, before these were unfollowed.
Headteacher John Vennart said: "The Malling School appears to have been a victim of a hacking incident on our Twitter site.
"We removed the malicious post as soon as we became aware of it, and are conducting an investigation."
One follower, a 19-year-old man whose brother attends the school, and asked only to be named as Richard, said: "I'm shocked. It's not what you'd expect of a school's Twitter feed.
"It makes you think about how it got there."
Last year, Oakwood Park Grammar School head teacher Kevin Moody blamed hackers after a pornographic tweet was "liked" from his Twitter account.
