Drivers are expected to face seven months of disruption on a busy route.
Full road and lane closures are planned on the A21, south of Tonbridge, as essential repairs take place on the Quarry Hill Road bridge.
The works are scheduled to start on Monday (April 29) and involve the replacement of steel bearings to guarantee the bridge's safety and longevity.
They aren’t expected to be completed until November.
From 6am on Tuesday, May 14, there will be a lane closure and a reduced speed limit on the A21 northbound between the A26 Quarry Hill Road junction and the A2014 Tonbridge overbridge junction.
And from 6am the following day a lane will be shut on the A26 southbound overbridge.
Both will be in place 24/7 until Saturday, November 16.
There will be diversion routes in place, which can be found here.s:
The work gets underway next week, when on Monday and Tuesday (April 29 and 30), there will be temporary traffic lights on Vauxhall Lane, just off the A2014, between 8pm and 6am.
Overnight traffic lights will also be in place at the same time on the road between Tuesday, May 7 and Thursday, May 9.
On Friday, May 10, and from Monday, May 13 to Friday, May 17, the A21 northbound will be closed from the A26 Quarry Hill Road to Longfield Road in Tunbridge Wells.
This will be overnight between 8pm and 6am and will include a closure of the southbound Quarry Hill exit slip on May 10, 13 and 14.
National Highways is advising drivers to allow extra time for their journeys.
