Three men suspected of posing as police officers to scam money out of a pensioner have been arrested following a dramatic police chase.
It came after a woman in her 70s from West Malling was defrauded out out of thousands of pounds.
It is reported that, last Friday Aug26, the suspects tricked her into handling over a large sum of money to a bogus police officer who attended her home.
She had been receiving phone calls from a man claiming there had been fraudulent activity linked to her bank account.
On Tuesday (August 30), a BMW was seen close to the victim's address and then followed by officers.
It failed to stop and was chased onto the M20, speeding dangerously along the motorway.
The car eventually stopped in Sidcup after it rammed another police car and the occupants fled on foot.
Three men, in their 20s and from London, were later arrested nearby and taken into custody on suspicion of fraud, driving offences and with impersonating police.
Detectives, working with the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU), are continuing to investigate and all three are currently on bail pending further enquiries.
They will be required to return to a police station on September 28.
