A teenage girl has been hurt in an accident on the A228.

The youngster was hit by a car in Malling Road, between Mereworth and Kings Hill.

Police said she is not thought to have sustained life-threatening injuries but has been taken to hospital.

The girl was on foot when she was struck near the junction with Kent Street at around 3.45pm.

It caused temporary delays for traffic in both directions but the road is now clear.
