A teenage girl has told police she was sexually assaulted at a country park.

Officers are investigating the assault, alleged to have happened in Leybourne Lakes Country Park, near Larkfield, between 7pm and 8pm.

Kent Police are currently searching the scene and a cordon has been put up.

A force spokesman said: "Kent Police is investigating a report a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in Leybourne Lakes Country Park at some point between 7pm and 8pm on Saturday.

"Inquiries to establish the full circumstances, which includes a search of the scene, are ongoing."
