Firefighters were called to a “thick and powerful” blaze at a multi-storey car park.
Two fire engines attended Bradbourne Car Park in Sevenoaks just after 1pm.
One witness said at the time: "The smoke is too thick and powerful to get anywhere near it.
"You can see the smoke from a mile away. It smells dreadful."
The fire was close to The Granville School, which is believed to have been evacuated.
Crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames, which caused damage to three vehicles.
No injuries have been reported.
