Delays are easing on the M20 coastbound after an earlier accident near the junction with the M26.

Three lorries and a car were involved in the crash at Addington, between the West Malling, and Wrotham turn-offs, which happened shortly after 11am.

One lane was already closed by roadworks in the area, and the accident restricted the carriageway still further to just one lane.

Traffic was stopped altogether for half an hour after midday while the vehicles were recovered.

There are no reports of any injuries and as of 1pm the congestion had started to clear.

In addition to the M20, queues had snaked back as far as M26 J2A at Wrotham.
