Traffic was brought to a standstill in the early hours after a vehicle caught fire on the M20.

It happened just after 1am on the hard shoulder of the coast-bound carriageway at Junction 5 for Aylesford.

Firefighters arrived to find the car fully alight and used a high-pressure hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.

The vehicle was completely destroyed by the blaze, but nobody was injured.

Fire crews left the scene just before 1.30am.
