Travellers who were moved on from a recreation ground have now appeared in a Tesco car park almost three miles away.

The group reportedly pitched up in the grounds of Tesco Extra in Lunsford Lane, Larkfield last night (August 1).

It comes after they were served a direction to leave notice by officers yesterday after appearing near the Ditton Community Centre the previous day (July 31).

A Tesco spokesperson said: “Our Aylesford Lunsford Park Extra store is now open after a brief closure this morning. We apologise to customers for the inconvenience.”

Officers received reports of the unauthorised encampment at around 8.10pm yesterday and say the police are on the scene and are liaising with the landowners.
