Firefighters tackled a blaze off a busy main road.

Crews were called close to Hermitage Lane at 3.19pm where around 50m of trees and vegetation were alight.

The fire broke out on a field between Barming station and the McDonald's drive-thru.

Firefighters used hoses, beaters and a fogging unit to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
