Staff have been assaulted after a restaurant was robbed today.

A masked man stormed into Brewers Fayre Castle Lake in Castle Way, Leybourne at around 6.30am.

He stole cash after walking into an office at the restaurant chain and allegedly assaulted two members of staff before leaving.

Police are carrying out forensic checks at the crime scene and a review of any CCTV in the area.

The suspect is described as 6ft tall, wearing a full balaclava, padded jacket and ski gloves.

He was also carrying a bag.
