Firefighters called to chimney fire in Birling Lane, Ryarsh

Firefighters are reminding homeowners to be vigilant after a chimney fire in Ryarsh on Sunday evening.

Crews were called to the home in Birling Lane shortly after 5pm and spent 45 minutes putting out the accidental blaze.

A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said the fire was started by a build-up of soot and ash.
