The car is reported to have left the road, gone up an embankment, through a wooden fence and landed on top of a quarry near the sandpits end of the M26/M20 sliproad.

Special blocks were used to stabilise the car, which allowed paramedics to help release the patient.

The lane one sliproad was closed so a recovery vehicle could reach the car.

The woman was taken to hospital with what has been described as a "slight injury".

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
