Kings Hill’s women’s team are set to make history.
The South East Counties League Premier Division side will play their first-ever Women’s FA Cup match when they host Croydon in the first qualifying round tomorrow.
“We’re hugely excited that our women’s first-team will have the opportunity to play in the FA Cup this season,” said Kings Hill chairman Andrew Boxer.
“We have been working hard, on and off the pitch, to build successful teams across the whole club and it’s fantastic that we have a home tie for our club’s very first FA Cup tie.
“We hope this won’t be the last time Kings Hill enters the cup and we hope our men’s team have similar opportunities in the future.”
Results on the pitch for the women’s first team have been exceptional over the past two seasons.
They have secured back-to-back promotions, led by player-manager Charlotte Abbott.
The FA Cup tie is expected to kick-off at 2pm at Kings Hill Sports Park and will be free to view as the park doesn’t currently have the facilities to take a gate - something which will, hopefully, change with proposed improvements to their facilities.
