A businessman has offered a £10,000 reward for 23 bright blue windows to be returned, after the van they were in was reportedly stolen from Gillingham.
The custom-made windows were in the back of a work van in Mill Road, which went missing between 2am and 7am on Saturday.
Dan Smith, owner of DWL, Windows, Doors and Conservatories, based in Eurolink Business Estate, Sittingbourne, said the reported theft had had a disastrous affect on his business.
He said: “Our installer parked his van outside his house and usually we don’t leave anything in the vans, but this time there were 23 windows.
“It has really messed us up, one of our big customers has been waiting for these windows for six weeks. It’s had disastrous consequences.
“It’s set back our customer as he’s had to cancel the plasterers as they have to come in after we’ve fitted the windows.
“If no one comes forward we will have to have temporary wooden windows made, just so the others can finish the job.
“They’re 21 bright blue windows in custom sizes they are no use to anyone else.”
Mr Smith added that the £10,000 reward will expire on Wednesday, as the company will have to order a new set of custom windows.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police received a report of a theft on Saturday, September 10 where it was alleged that a van was stolen between 9.30pm on Friday and 7.45am on Saturday in Mill Road, Gillingham."
