School pupils getting their results and hear from Medway Council
education portfolio holder Cllr Les Wicks
The agonising wait came to an end for thousands of
students across Medway as they collected their A and AS level
results this morning (Thursday). Reporters Lynn Cox, Jenni
Horn and Hayley Robinson were there as
nervous teenagers opened those all-important envelopes.
Sixth form pupils at the Kings School, Rochester, collected their
results from the school office, Satis House, in Boley Hill, at
10am.
Head girl, Kathryn Gilbert, was as pleased as punch when she opened
her long-awaited envelope to see she had received four A
grades.
The 18-year-old from Rochester will study medicine at Southampton

joy when they received their results on the school steps.

to starting university next month.
The 18-year-old from Osborne Road, Gillingham, said: “A few years
ago I would never have thought I’d be going off to
university.”
Vikki Morton, 18, of Nelson Road, Gillingham, received the
highest results at the school; four A grades, and will also be
going to Oxford University in September.
She said: “I was really surprised, I’ll defiantly be out
celebrating later.”
Catherine Ellis, 17, from Rochester Grammar School for Girls, was
extremely pleased with her results after gaining four A grades in
French, German, Latin and History.
She said: “It’s a bit bewildering, frankly I’m in a small state of
shock but it’s a good shock.
Medway Council’s Director of Children and Adults Services Rose
Collinson said: "Waiting for exam results is always a tense time,
whether you are a student, parent or teacher. I congratulate all
